How much ice cream is healthy for dogs?
Dog ice cream should remain an occasional treat – nothing more. One or two small portions on hot days are usually sufficient. Too much cold ice cream can upset the stomach or lead to diarrhoea. It's similar to children: they should also enjoy ice cream in moderation because too much of it causes stomach ache. It's best to try a small amount first and see how your dog tolerates it.

Make your own dog ice cream: the recipe
)
½ cucumber
A handful of blueberries (fresh or frozen)
2–3 tablespoons unsweetened natural yoghurt
A few drops of BIOGENA PETS drops of your choice – depending on what your dog needs at the moment. We used the Omega 3 drops with salmon oil.
Tip: You can vary the recipe as you wish with other types of fruit. Mild, ripe and seedless fruits are particularly suitable for homemade dog ice cream. Particularly popular are bananas, blueberries, strawberries, seedless and peel-free watermelon, and ripe pears or apples (without cores). These fruits are not only refreshing, but also provide valuable nutrients. It is important to always use small portions and to consistently avoid unsuitable fruits such as grapes, raisins or citrus fruits.
